4 Easy Steps To Find The Best Skin Care Moisturizer Cream That You Can Use Today

lady363 » 31 July 2009 » In Skin Care » No Comments

What is the trick of finding a skin care moisturizer cream that is highly effective in anti aging and skin rejuvenation? Although it’s a fairly simple trick, most consumers fail to get the best skin care cream due to their lack of knowledge.

The trick of finding the most effective skin care moisturizer cream lies in identifying the best natural ingredients that should be present in it and avoiding harmful chemical substances that have known adverse impacts on our health. Although it might sound simple, majority of the consumers skip this critical step.

Here are 4 easy steps that you can use to find the best skin care solutions for your self –

1) Another important thing is to avoid the local drugstore or the local department stores for purchasing skin care creams. They mostly store cheap products which contain a lot of synthetic chemicals like parabens, fragrances, alcohols, dioxanes and mineral oils. Rather than doing any good, these would harm your skin and overall health.

It is better to shop online for the best skin care moisturizer cream, as you can research in full depth about the ingredients that have been used in the products with the detailed scientific reasons for using them.

2) The quality and effectiveness of a skin care moisturizer cream depends a lot on the kind of natural moisturizers and essential oils that it contains. Moisturizers keep the skin well hydrated and make it soft, supple and vibrant.

Essential oils are needed to replace the oil and moisture balance that the skin loses throughout the day. This way the skin stays healthy and well nourished.

3) You should also look for the best emollients in your skin care moisturizer cream. They give the skin softness and smoothness naturally. They also prevent skin inflammation and redness.

4) Rather than using plain skin care creams which moisturize the skin, it makes much more sense to use anti aging skin care moisturizer creams. Besides having essential moisturizing oils, they also contain special natural ingredients that slow down the aging process and also reverse the signs of aging that already occurred.

One such amazing natural ingredient is Cynergy TK. It plays a unique role in anti aging and skin rejuvenation. It enhances the natural production of collagen and elastin. These are the two vital skin proteins which make our skin firm, supple, pliant and elastic.

It is due to the loss and slowdown in production of these youth giving proteins as you get older, that aging signs such as wrinkles, fine lines and saggy skin begin to appear. So, when the body naturally begins to produce more collagen and elastin, the skin becomes healthy, young and firmer.

Maintaining healthy and beautiful skin requires more than just a skin care moisturizer cream.

Visit my website to learn more about such amazing natural ingredients that you should look out for in the best skin care moisturizer cream and what harmful substances you should be avoiding, so that you can achieve a young, beautiful and naturally glowing skin.

Skin Care Cream Basics

lady363 » 31 July 2009 » In Skin Care » No Comments

As more and more beauty products saturate the market, one of the leading selections gracing the shelves of department stores, pharmacies, and grocery stores is skin care cream. While the face might be the first part of the body one may associate with skin cream, there are numerous options created to take care of a wide range of body parts, from head to toe.

With skin care products, various ingredients are added to treat, improve, or control specific parts of the body, as well as the skin conditions that may arise.

The aim of skin care cream is to find a brand name or merchandise item that both satisfies your needs and makes you feel good after using it. Below, you will find a brief description regarding some of the most popular kinds of skin care cream:

Face Care Cream: there are several occurrences that can take place on the skin that affect individuals of all ages. The most common concerns regarding the face include dry skin, wrinkles, and acne. For instance, the unsightly outbreak of pimples that comes with an acne flare-up is part of an inflammatory disease that attacks the sebaceous glands and hair follicles in the skin.

In response to this irritating condition, there are plenty of skin care creams available that help unclog pores and tighten the skin, as well as clarify its appearance. Today, an increasingly popular approach to acne skin care cream involves the use of herbal, all-natural ingredients.

In this day, it is also the hope of many to achieve a more youthful appearance by eliminating the signs of age that develop on the face. Excessive sun exposure or improper skin care will show in time, causing many to turn to an anti-wrinkle skin care cream or one that helps ease the look of aging.

Numerous products from Oil of Olay to Neutrogena provide skin care creams for the face that accommodate many different skin types, including dry, oily, and sensitive.

Before purchasing skin care cream for the face, you should know that not every ingredient or product will provide the desired results you seek. In fact, some creams have the potential to make matters worse by causing allergic reactions or skin irritations.

This is why it is important to test a small amount of product on an indiscreet part of the face before slathering on a full application.

Hand Cream: skin care cream for the hands is important to keep handy because there is nothing worse than displaying a pair of dry, scaly, or cracked hands. To avoid this unattractive sight, using cream on a daily basis is required to keep hands hydrated and looking youthful. Signs of age can also appear on the hands in the form of age spots and wrinkles. The more moisture they have, the less susceptible they will be to the wear and tear of everyday use.

Some individuals find that their hands demand moisture and hydration because of a skin condition they may have developed. Skin eczema creates redness, as well as a cracked or chapped appearance.

Aside from finding a soothing hand skin care cream, you must also get to the bottom of the source of your skin irritation. Often, it could be the kind of soap or detergent you use, as well as frequent sessions of hand washing. Hand creams are the best way to keep this part of the body hydrated.

Usually, decent skin care cream products for the hands will offer some sort of rejuvenating oil, as well as coconut, almond, or honey ingredients, which are known to not only moisturize the skin, but also act as protection from the elements.

Skin Care Cream for the Feet: when it comes to the feet, taking care of this part of the body is just as important as paying attention to the face and hands. Some skin care creams are especially made to tend to the tops of the feet, as well as the heel, which has the potential to become extremely cracked and irritated.

Itchiness may also accompany a foot that is in need of serious moisturizing. Using a skin care cream for the feet is also highly recommended for during the winter season, when damage is most likely to happen. When looking for a good skin care cream for the feet, seek out products that contain peppermint, vitamin E, rosemary or other essential oils that help to restore softness and smoothness to the skin.

As you scan the shelves of the local supermarket or order a few products from the Internet, there is an assortment of skin care cream options to consider for nearly every part of the body.

For instance, stretch marks that develop during a pregnancy or rapid weight gain can be treated with the use of skin care creams. Some skin creams are made to combat the appearance of cellulite.

In any case, just remember that for whatever reason you use cream, there is always a better and newer product waiting in the wings to satisfy your skin care needs.

Your Skin Care Tips Treasure Chest – 3 Skin Care Secrets That You Did Not Know

lady363 » 31 July 2009 » In Skin Care » No Comments

The use of an effective anti aging skin cream coupled with a healthy lifestyle – This is a deadly combination and there is no way that wrinkles and fine lines can stay on your face. Here are a few skin care tips that shall make getting rid of wrinkles as easy as a child’s play.

The pharmacy stores and the skin care market is filled with a lot of different brands of anti aging and anti wrinkle products. Most of them are just hyped up products which do not deliver as per the big promises that they make in the advertisements on television, glossy magazines and radio.

The best skin care tip that I would give after years of experience in the skin care industry is that you should look very carefully at the ingredients that are contained in the skin care products that you purchase. Make sure that they are natural ingredients that are scientifically proven to perform deep and effective skin rejuvenation.

Secret No 1 – Harmful Substances to avoid

And also make sure that the products do not contain harmful substances of any type. These could be synthetic chemicals and oils that are used for many purposes, for example -

- Parabens are used as preservatives in place of natural stabilizers.

- Artificial Fragrances are used to give a nice smell to substandard products in place of natural perfumes and scents.

- Mineral Oils are used as skin moisturizers in place of natural plant based oils and emollients.

- DEA, MEA and TEA (Mono, Di and Tri-ethanolamine) are used to adjust the pH in skin care products.

- PEG (Polyethylene glycol) is used as an emulsifier and humectant. It is a known carcinogenic.

- Triclosan is used in skin care products as an anti-bacterial agent (it is actually for use in weed killers).

You can see clearly how the skin care product manufacturers cut corners to boost their profitability by compromising on the product quality. They use such harmful chemicals which are not at all meant for use on our skin.

You should avoid such ingredients at all cost in the skin care products you purchase.

Secret No 2 – Natural Ingredients to look for

In place of such dreaded substances, you should look for amazing natural ingredients that play a very constructive and positive role in improving skin youth and vitality. Some of these are Cynergy TK, Phytessence Wakame and Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10.

They have surprised the medical world by their amazing properties in anti aging and skin rejuvenation. Cynergy TK plays a unique role by enhancing the natural production of youth giving skin proteins called collagen and elastin. It also improves skin moisture retention and elasticity.

Phytessence Wakame is an extract of a special Japanese sea kelp. It is one of the best kept anti aging beauty secrets of Japan. It preserves the balance of the vital hyaluronic acid in the body which is vital for skin youth. It is also rich in minerals, antioxidants, vitamins and calcium (it contains 15 times more calcium than milk).

Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10 is the most superior form the antioxidant that the medical community has discovered in the current times. It is a nano emulsion version of the well known antioxidant Coenzyme Q10 and works in a unique way by penetrating 7 layers deep down the skin and neutralizing free radicals that cause damage to skin cells and tissues.

Secret No 3 – Lifestyle Skin Care Tips

A healthy and vibrant skin is a barometer of your overall health. You should follow a health lifestyle which includes the following activities to maintain the youth and healthy glow of your skin -

1) Drink plenty of water. Water comprises 70% of our total body weight. It is essential for skin cells hydration.

2) Avoid consumption of junk food as much as possible. Try to include green leafy vegetables in their place as they are rich in antioxidants.

3) Avoid excessive exposure to the sun. The harmful UV-A rays speed up the formation of free radicals and lead to premature skin aging.

4) Avoid smoking, excessive stress and alcohol consumption.

Visit my website to find out more effective skin care tips and what amazing natural ingredients you should look out for in the best skin care products and what harmful substances you should be avoiding. A healthy lifestyle coupled with the most effective anti aging products is the master-key to achieve a soft, beautiful and young skin that is glowing with natural health.

Anti-aging Agents: a Guide to Key Ingredients in Anti-aging Skincare

lady363 » 31 July 2009 » In Anti Age » No Comments

Anti-Aging Agents

Wrinkles, sags, lines, freckles and “liver spots” are all normal accompaniments of aging–or are they? We hear so much hype about what goes on in the aging process it becomes really difficult to separate fact from fiction. However, we do know that there are some topical ingredients that will help the skin combat oxidative stress, regenerate tissue and heal itself. This list covers just a few of the anti-aging heavy hitters you will find in MV products. For a more complete discussion of aging, please visit the About Aging page.

Alpha-lipoic acid—A powerful anti-oxidant. Alpha lipoic acid’s antiaging benefits are in part likely related to its ability to increase levels of the amino acid glutathione, which also possesses anti-aging properties.

Australian bush plum– With the average vitamin C content of 3.0 – 3.5% (range= .2 to 5.9%) the bush plum provides the most concentrated natural source of vitamin C known. The typical bush plum contains about 2907 mg vitamin C per 100 grams of edible fruit.

Beta-carotene—a natural precursor to Vitamin A, whose cell regenerative properties have given it the reputation as the “skin vitamin.” Vitamin A is essential for skin health. Supplements are often given to help with cases of stubborn acne.

Carrot seed essential oil– This essential oil is widely appreciated for its ability to help heal dry and dehydrated skin. Carrot seed essential oil has a high carotol content, which provides good skin-rejuvenating properties. It also contains beta-carotine and it is rich in vitamins A & E. The oil’s aroma is sweet and it is an excellent essential oil for mature skin.

DMAE– (dimethylaminoethanol) An amino acid and antioxidant membrane stabilizer. DMAE works synergistically with antioxidants to enhance their strength, and to help repair and stabilize skin cell membranes by expelling waste.

Evening primrose oil– Evening primrose oil is one of the most concentrated sources of gamma-linoleic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid with anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. The body converts the GLA in evening primrose oil into prostaglandins, substances that function like hormones and help to regulate body processes. It also contains substantial amounts of polysaturated omega-6 fatty acids.

Ginseng extract– (Panax quinquefolium) When applied to the skin, ginseng has been shown to enhance the cellular function of skin cells and stimulate skin cell regeneration. It is useful in combating wrinkles and the visible signs of aging. Ginseng is extracted from the root of the ginseng plant after the plant reaches maturity, which may take six or more years.

Glyconutrients—provide nutrients so skin can biosynthesize hyaluronic acid and other glycosamineglycans, thus maintaining skin plumpness. Read more about the benefits of glyconutrients on the Glyconutrients page.

Gotu Kola– Known for its remarkable wound healing properties, gotu kola is often used for treating burns and skin ulcers.

Helichryssum essential oil– Helichrysum stimulates production of new cells, so it’s used in skin products to treat acne, scar tissue, bruising, mature skin, and burns. It also helps to prevent sunburn. It treats bacterial infection and inflammation and helps to boost the body’s immune system. Its healing properties can quell a chronic cough, bronchitis, or fever, and it can alleviate pain by numbing nerve endings. It also lessens muscle pain, arthritis, enlarged veins, liver problems and counters allergic reactions like asthma. Its scent helps relieve depression, nervous exhaustion, and stress.

Idebenone- a powerful anti-oxidant. Results of a clinical trial were presented in February 2004 at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology. They wanted to find out which ingredient offered the best protection against free radicals. Idebenone finished first against vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q10, kinetin, and alpha-lipoic acid. The benefits of this ingredient include shielding skin from environmental damage, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and reducing dryness and smoothing skin texture.

Kombucha tea— Kombucha, also known as the Manchurian or Kargasok mushroom, is not a mushroom but rather a mixture of bacteria that includes Acetobacter xylinum, Acetobacter ketogenum and Pichia fermentans, and various yeasts. It contains lactic acid and glucoronic acid, essential for the biosynthesis of hyaluronic acid, an important component of the skin’s dermal layer that contributes to skin elasticity and plumpness. It acts as a humectant.

Pearl powder– By slowing down the development of melanin (the chemical in our body responsible for colour pigments) it prevents and facilitates the fading of pigmentation spots. Rich in proteins, pearls also help to renew skin cells. It is also rich in vitamin B-complex and polysaccharides which strengthen the muscles and improve metabolism. Taken internally, pearl powder also acts as a source of calcium to aid those with bone loss. Some Chinese experts claim that it has the ability to filter the sun’s rays and correct damage done to the skin by the sun. Common uses: evens out skin tone, clears acne and rosacea, fades pigmentation marks and is beneficial for general complexion maintenance.

Quercetin–a bioflavonoid (or flavonoid), which is a type of pigment found in almost all herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Bioflavonoids provide the body with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant protection, and quercetin is among the most powerful and effective of known anti-inflammatories and antioxidants

Resveratrol– Resveratrol ( trans-3,5,4′-trihydroxystilbene ) is a protective compound produced by grapes and other plants in response to environmental stresses. Studies have demonstrated that resveratrol has potent antioxidant activity and also has the ability to inhibit platelet aggregation. These actions may help prevent free radical damage throughout the body and provide protective support to the cardiovascular system.

Rose hip seed oil– Rosehip seed oil contains Vitamin A, which helps to delay the effects of skin aging, assists with cell regeneration, and promotes increase of collagen and elastin levels. Rosehip seed oil also contains a high amount of essential fatty acids and Vitamin E. In particular, it is rich in linoleic and linolenic acids, important skin nutrients.

Seabuckthorn oil– Sea Buckthorn oil has multiple benefits in the area of restorative and anti-aging skin care. Natural antioxidants and essential fatty acids help reverse damaging effects of sun radiation and minimize long term effects of sun exposure. Promotes natural skin restorative processes. Tolerated by any type of skin, sea buckthorn oil is especially beneficial for rosacea-prone skin as it provides long term anti-inflammatory, restorative and revitalizing action.

White tea– well-documented antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Topical white tea polyphenols are likely to slow down the development of some signs of aging. In particular, since the sun protection benefits of white tea are particularly well documented, it makes sense to use a sunscreen with white tea in it, and particularly a sunscreen with zinc oxide, as ZO is chemically inert and will not react with white tea (which some chemical sunscreens might do, especially in sunlight).

Anti Aging Skin Care Products That Pamper And Protect

lady363 » 30 July 2009 » In Anti Age » No Comments

If you buy the average anti aging skin care product, you are likely to walk away with more damage than you started out with. There are some wonderful anti aging skin care products, but most of them are pretty lousy.

The big name brands rely on petrolatum, urea, artificial preservatives, synthetic vitamin E and sun-screening compounds to reduce wrinkles and sagging. None of those ingredients are beneficial, in the least. Here’s why.

Petrolatum vs. Grape Seed Oil

Petrolatum does not penetrate the skin, so it is not an effective moisturizer. To increase firmness, we need to increase the moisture content. Grape seed oil does penetrate and is very similar to human sebum. It also dries to a thin lightweight film that helps to lock in the moisture, while preventing dirt and pollutants from clogging the pores.

So, grape seed oil is the best choice for an anti aging skin care product.

Urea vs. Maracuja

The average anti aging skin care products contains urea, plant and animal waste that is the primary component of urine. They include it, because it has been used for many years to soften the skin on the bottom of the feet. It is relatively non-toxic, but it should not be used on broken skin.

Maracuja, a special Brazilian passion fruit extract, is structurally very similar to human skin. It is rich in essential fatty acids, which leave your skin feeling soft and velvety.

Maracuja is a better choice for anti aging skin care products than urea. It even sounds better.

Artificial Preservatives vs. Natural Antioxidants

I know of more than one anti aging skin care product that claims to contain antioxidants, but the truth is a little different. Artificial preservatives are technically antioxidants, but they are not the antioxidants that are important for the skin’s health. In fact, they are irritating and damaging.

The best anti aging skin care products contain a variety of natural antioxidants including natural vitamin E. The synthetic types are not as effective. Natural vitamin E also works to prevent spoilage of the other ingredients.

If you want the best anti aging skin care product, look for one that contains HEQ10. It is a patented formula that contains nano-particles of coenzyme Q10 and vitamin E. These particles can penetrate deeply repairing and preventing free radical damage.

What you need to know about sunscreens is this. They are included in anti aging skin care products, because sun damage is held responsible for an aged appearance. It is actually free radical damage caused by exposure to UV radiation from the sun and the only way to counter it is with natural antioxidants.

In addition, some of those sun-screening compounds, cause free radical damage. When you expect to be out in the sun for extended periods, use a broad range sun-block.

On a daily basis, if you use an anti aging skin care product that is rich in antioxidants and all the other ingredients we have talked about you will be rewarded with a healthier, younger looking more radiant skin.

Anti Aging Skin Care Products Work Wonders

lady363 » 30 July 2009 » In Anti Age » No Comments

If you watch television a lot, you will notice that there is a great deal of advertising for anti aging skin care products. The reason is that with the population aging, more people are concerned about looking old, thus the need for products that will stall the effects of age on our skin. However, this is not something new that has taken over society.

Even ancient civilizations were concerned with the entire aging process as they had their own treatments to try to stop it.

Obviously, we cannot stop the aging process; however, anti aging skin care products will help you keep your youthful appearance longer than normal. Many people just cannot age gracefully and resort to surgical means to keep their appearance youthful…in a way. Frankly, if you look at someone who has undergone Botox treatments, it looks as though they are completely devoid of expression, almost plastic like.

Thanks to advancements in modern technology, the latest anti aging skin care product on the market are much better than they have ever been. You can find natural products or synthetic products, whichever your preference may be at this time.

However, keep in mind that just because a product is marketed as a good anti wrinkle cream, it does not mean that it actually does anything good for you. Legitimate customer reviews are always a good sign that a product actually does what it says it will. Another test is for you to try the product yourself and form your own opinion.

One of the best anti aging skin care products is actually sunscreen. By protecting yourself from the sun’s harmful rays, you will go a long way in keeping your skin looking and feeling soft and smooth. Do not believe a product that promotes miracles.

Some people have found that a chemical based cream can cause serious side effects. Some people are also allergic to synthetic creams. For this reason, many people are turning to natural products to help clear up wrinkles and facial lines.

In conclusion, choose an anti aging skin care product that works best for you. What works for you, may not work for someone else.

Extraordinary Skin Care Tip – Regaining Young Skin Was Never This Easy!

lady363 » 29 July 2009 » In Skin Care » No Comments

There are hundreds of skin care products flooding the market every month and they all claim to be effective. Here is the best anti aging skin care tip that shall eliminate all the doubts in your mind and shall give you crystal clarity on what is the best option for your skin health.

If you want to permanently get rid of skin aging symptoms like wrinkles, fine line, saggy skin, age spots and dark uneven skin complexion quickly and effortlessly – then the best alternative for you is to find an anti aging solution that contains natural ingredients that counter the primary causes of skin aging. This is the most fundamental skin care tip.

The ingredients are the heart of any skin care product. That is what determines whether the anti aging solution shall be outstanding and effective or it shall be totally futile and useless.

The biggest reason for skin aging is the loss of vital youth giving proteins called collagen and elastin from your skin. They are responsible for giving us firm, elastic, pliant and supple skin.

Here’s a quick medical fact. As you begin to age around the late twenties, your skin begins to lose around 1.5% of its collagen and elastin fibers each year. And you don’t need to lose all 100% of these skin proteins to get wrinkles and fine lines.

So, that’s the reason why we start to lose our skin firmness and suppleness as we start to enter our thirties and forties. And the secret skin care tip for anti aging is exactly the opposite of this.

The secret anti aging skin care tip is that you should find out such natural ingredients that stimulate the production of your own body’s collagen and elastin. As the body resumes its abundant production of these vital youth giving proteins, wrinkles and fines lines shall disappear just like an ice cream melts in the sunshine!

Here is another super cool skin care tip that not many people know about – Don’t get into the collagen skin cream trap. A lot of people get into this misconception that if collagen is good for the skin health, then using skin care creams with collagen in them shall be good for anti aging and skin rejuvenation.

But, this is far from the reality. Scientific evidence proves that the collagen molecule in skin creams is too large in size to penetrate the skin cells.

And collagen containing pills are also equally futile. Its structure is too complex to assimilate in the collagen matrix found in our body. Thus collagen based creams, lotions and pills are all a sheer waste of money. Stay away from them.

Thanks to innovations and developments in modern medical science, such natural ingredients have been pioneered that work magically in anti aging and rejuvenation. Cynergy TK is one such ingredient that has its origins in New Zealand.

It stimulates natural production of collagen and elastin proteins in the skin. This leads to new skin cell regrowth! It makes the skin smooth, young and radiant. It improves the skin’s moisture retention significantly and gives it brand new elasticity.

It is even used by the Hollywood celebrities to maintain their gorgeous young looks, but this is not a skin care tip that they would share with you!

Visit my website to find out more interesting skin care tips and amazing natural ingredients that you should look out for and a detailed list of harmful substances that you should be avoiding in the best skin care anti aging products, so that you can regain a beautiful, young and vibrant skin most effortlessly.

Cosmetics That Can Harm your Skin

lady363 » 28 July 2009 » In Cosmetics » No Comments

You might be wondering, if cosmetics that are supposed to be actually improving my face are spoiling it, is it better to avoid cosmetics altogether? However, I can’t do without cosmetics because I need to get that great look for my office, party or important event.

What do you do in such a situation? Well the fact is, cosmetics can be pretty harmful for your skin and they can aggravate you skin problem because of their chemical-based ingredients. Here are a couple of pointers on what type of cosmetics you can avoid to keep away from those that can harm your skin:

>> If you cosmetics label says ‘Parabens’, look for another one, because this ingredient has preservatives that cause allergies and skin rashes. It is used in cosmetic products to increase its shelf life but this factor actually makes it bad for the skin.

>> If you see the ingredient ‘Sodium lauryl sulphate’ on the cosmetic, forget it! This can irritate your eye, cause rashes and allergies. It used in the cosmetics to cleanse you face, but it’s the same ingredient that’s also used in foaming washes.

>> Many anti-aging creams and moisturizers have an ingredient called ‘Mineral Oil’. This oil actually leads to premature aging of the skin and removes the skin’s natural oils. Over a period of time, the usage of such cosmetics can make your skin dry and chap easily.

>> Cosmetics are seen in such beautiful colors now-a-days. The colors we see range from natural ones to rare ones. However, these colors are more than a point of wonder, because something to be noted here is that these shades are made from synthetic colors. Synthetic colors can cause cancer and they are labeled as FD&C or D&C, seen along with a color number. Avoid cosmetics with such ingredients at all costs.

>> Be sure to find cleansers that contain natural ingrediants . Any cosmetic cleanser which smells nice can actually have benzene derivatives or aldehydes, which can cause headaches and dizziness.

>> Talc is yet another ingredient to be avoided through it is widely used in baby powder and make-up. This is because there are strong links to it causing ovarian and it can testicular cancer

>> Quarternium-15 causes allergies and it is commonly used as a preservative in cosmetics, skin moisturizers and toiletry items.

If you look at all that’s given above, you will get a pretty dismal picture of cosmetic products and probably think never to use then again. However, not using them can put you into a dilemma. How do you look and feel great, without make-up because you have been using it so much as part of your style and simply can’t do without it?

One alternative is to go in for home-remedies. They do not cause any side effects and can give you skin a natural glow and shine… something no cosmetic will ever be able to do. However, if you want to look glossy just for some special occasion, try out mineral cosmetics because they are a great alternative to chemical-based cosmetics that contain harmful chemicals.

Skin Care Myths And Your Beauty Regime

lady363 » 28 July 2009 » In Skin Care » No Comments

There are lots of skin care myths out there. Some of them are based upon fact, while others are just plain comical. Have you ever wondered about skin care myths? Below, you will find some of the most outlandish myths out there…and you may even come across one or two that aren’t myths at all.

Let’s begin with beloved chocolate. Many people believe that chocolate makes the skin break out. Not only is this a cruel way to think about chocolate, it is also…you guessed it…a myth. The truth is that food doesn’t make your skin break out in any manner. While some people believe that the skin will absorb food, this simply isn’t true.

Some things that will make your face break out include: stress, steroids, poor quality skin care creams; or creams that block pores. Now, on to that next myth: tanning. A lot of people believe that tanning will help to clear up acne. This just isn’t the case. In fact, tanning is so bad for your skin…it actually damages your skin more than it helps your skin.

The only way that a tan will help to hide your acne is if you burn your skin. Then, the red color from that burn may actually hide any acne scarring. Of course, this will lead to skin cancer, so it’s really not recommended. Speaking of tanning…another great myth is the one that goes something like this: “if I use a stronger sunscreen, I can stay in the sun for a longer period of time.”

This, of course, isn’t true. You shouldn’t spend any lengthy amount of time in the sun if you want to avoid skin damage. The best course of action is to use a sunscreen with an ingredient called Parsol. The most important thing is to make sure that the sunscreen you do use has UVB protection included in it. Otherwise, your skin will simply burn.

Let’s talk about lips for a moment. There is a rumour floating around out there that it is possible to become addicted to lip balm if you use it too often. Once again, this isn’t true. If you find that you have dry lips often, think about the number of times that you lick them. Licking your lips will cause them to dry out…but lip balm does not cause any kind of lip addiction.

See how silly some of these skin myths can be? So, the next time that someone tells you not to eat spicy food because…it will make you break out, tell them that you know better than to believe skin myths.
